The Austin A40 Devon is one of those classic cars that were produced when the history of economics was on the verge of change. Austin Seven Chummy
A motor company founded by Herbert Austin made the Austin Seven series cars. The Austin seven cars came as a rage in Europe and this rage almost swept away the other cars out of the market. These cars were compact, affordable and economical and they made a mark not only in the European markets but also in other parts of the world.
Successful launch
Amongst the Austin Seven models, Austin Seven ‘Chummy’ was a car that evoked immense demand in the automobile markets. This car came in the year 1924 and instantly became a popular family car. It was seen moving on the streets of big cities and small towns alike. The comfortable seating and efficient tyre shape made it a much preferred car as it could be easily manoeuvred even on dirt tracks and ploughed fields.
