Swapping my Car for a Bike
Written by Editor on June 14, 2010 in Classic Cars History
This may seem like a pretty crazy scenario to you but I recently swapped my perfectly decent, albeit old car, for a five year old 650 bike. Before you say that I am mad, bear in mind that both are valued at approximately the same price, give or take a few hundred pounds. Ok, I might be losing out on as few hundred quid, but that is only initially.
An Online Search for a New Used Car
Written by Editor on June 14, 2010 in Classic Car Reviews
It’s never an easy task to buy a new car – the whole process is fraught with stress and anxiety! I really don’t think there is any way round that – you can never guarantee the condition of any car, no matter how you try. Ok, I guess you can buy new, but with today’s prices this is prohibitive to most people. Personally, I always try to find something with low mileage for its age, and I always make sure that there is lots of history. I also always carry out an HPi check – just to make sure there is nothing untoward, because you never know.

Written by Editor on June 11, 2010 in Classic Cars Insurance
What sets bikes and cars apart? They are both media of transport. Both of them broadly deliver the same services and yet, there are certain details which draw the line of difference between these two vehicles.
The engine oil used is one the main aspects of any motorized vehicle. The main differences between the engine oils used in motorcycles and cars are that the fuel in cars contains friction modifiers used to decrease the friction between the engine components and make the fuel more economic. But, a motorcycle contains the engine and the transmission machinery in one casing. Here, if a fuel with friction modifier is used, it will cause the wet clutch to slip, thereby increasing the chances of accidents.
Cheap Car Insurance and “Women Drivers”
Written by Editor on June 06, 2010 in Classic Cars Insurance
Despite the derogatory machismo attitude about the poor driving habits of “women drivers” from so many men, the automobile industry has a very different viewpoint on the situation. Women are seen by them as being much safer drivers than their male counterparts and therefore are generally given much lower rates than almost any age bracket of male drivers.
